Upcycle Crochet

I first posted this on my old blog, but I want to keep everything in one place, so I am re posting here.  A rag rug is a great way to upcycle some old clothes. In this case I used some  cotton baby wraps, that I really liked the colour combination of, but they were all stretched out of shape.

1st step is to make your 'yarn'. Stretchy material will work best. This stage will probably take longer than crocheting it all together! Cut strips, but leave about an inch at the end, then cut back in the opposite direction. Originally I did these posts separately, so I didn't worry that the colours don't match with the pictures!

You don't have to crochet, you could knit or even weave. I used a very large hook; 15mm, and crocheted stripes in US dc or UK tr

Have fun creating!

    1. too small of hook. you need at least 12mm /p, or start with q size.
if it's wavy you may have 'increased' a stitch or two, count every ten
